Awards & Scholarships

TNA District 5 has a long history of honoring and recognizing the achievements of those in our profession. We currently offer the following awards and scholarships to support nurses in our area.

Fabulous 5 Nurses

In conjunction with National Nurses' Week in May each year, TNA5 holds a Nurses' Week Gala celebrating area nurses. One purpose of the Nurses' Week Gala is to bestow awards to five local individuals who have been selected as the "Fabulous 5" for the year. 

The "Fab 5" are registered nurses who have made a significant difference to patients, peers, and the community. Honored for their demonstrated excellence in the art and science of Nursing, they are chosen for their leadership qualities, services to the community and significant contributions to the profession, along with their status as role models and compassionate caregivers.

Scholarships

For several years, TNA5 has offered scholarships to individuals pursuing degrees in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College.
