Texas Nurses Association District 5 (TNA5) is a regional chapter of a state-wide membership-based association of registered nurses (TNA).
Founded in 1907, TNA is the oldest professional nursing association in Texas. Our members represent all segments of nursing practice, from bedside to administration, consulting to advanced practice, and education to legislation. They're from all practice settings: hospital, home and community health, public health, higher education, long-term care, school health, and policy. And all practice areas.
National Nurses' Week was celebrated at last year's Gala where the 2016 "Fabulous 5 Nurses" were honored. Applications for the 2017 Fabulous 5 Nurses will be accepted starting in March 2017!
Every year at the Gala we have a silent auction to raise scholarship funds. Last year (2016) we had another great year of fundraising and were able to provide even more scholarships than 2015! If you can help with fundraising by contacting a potential sponsor, contributing silent auction items or sponsoring a scholarship, please email the president.
To further professional development and support area nurses, TNA5 Scholarships Applications will be available for District residents seeking undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees in the Spring of 2017. Watch for the announcement for applications here!
Join us and become a part of this vibrant organization today! TNA District 5 will be accepting nominations for Board and Committee positions for the upcoming 2016-2018 term. Click here to nominate yourself or someone who you think would make a great Board or Committee member!
