Recognition and award presentation of Representative Donna Howard for her contributions to nursing in the 85th Legislative session.

Suggested donation of $20 (cash or check) payable to the Texas Nurse PAC - Your investment in the TEXAS NURSE PAC helps bring together nurses throughout Texas to impact the policies that ensure safety for nurses and your patients.

Representative Donna Howard (D-Austin) is one of nursing’s true champions in the Texas Legislature. A one-time president of TNA District 5, she practiced as a critical care nurse at Brackenridge and Seton hospitals in Austin and was the first hospital-based patient education coordinator in Austin. Donna has long championed nursing issues, and in the 2017 legislative session she sponsored a number of nursing-related bills. HB 280 provides grants to hospitals to help them innovate in ways to reduce workplace violence against nurses. She also joint authored the first APRN full practice authority bill to ever receive a committee hearing this session. Rep. Howard is a true friend of nursing and we are honored to provide her with a 2017 TNA Friend of Nursing Award for all she has done for the profession this legislative session.

Please enjoy complimentary wine and refreshments as we celebrate Representative Donna Howard as a friend of nursing!

We hope to see you there.

Bring a friend.
